Multivision show "The HOMELAND of Others" by Peter Ruf

"The HOMELAND of Others" is a multi-vision presentation by Peter Ruf (Kappelrodeck). It tells the story of a pilgrimage journey by e-bike in the years 2024 and 2025 to northwestern Greece, to Kommeno, and across Southeast Europe. In this lecture, Peter Ruf engages intensively with the concept of "HOMELAND." In 2024, Peter Ruf visited the village of Kommeno in northwestern Greece, which was burned down and completely destroyed by German soldiers in 1943. 317 of the 600 residents lost their lives in a brutal manner. In honor of the murdered, he undertook the 3,104-kilometer return journey to Kappelrodeck by e-bike as a "pilgrimage return" – in 28 days and enriched by countless encounters and acts of hospitality. The journey took him through nine countries in Europe and allowed him to experience the homeland of many people. In August 2025, Peter Ruf returned to Kommeno and now invites you on an impressive visual journey to the natural paradise of the Ambrakian Gulf, where the village is located.
