Benefit cantata service with music by J. S. Bach

"Break your bread with the hungry" BWV 39 and the double-choir motet "I will not let you go unless you bless me" BWV Anh. 149 will be performed under the musical direction of Werner F. Gann as part of World Leprosy Day. It is an extremely rare opportunity to experience J. S. Bach's music presented in the context of a church service. The Bach cantata services in Stammheim, as benefit projects for the Leprosy Mission, are an ecumenical project with over 20 years of history. In collaboration between the Evangelical Methodist and the Evangelical congregations of Stammheim, and under the musical direction of Werner F. Gann, cantatas and motets by J. S. Bach will be performed with the participation of singers and musicians, primarily from the southern German region. Originally, these musical works were intended for church services, but they are now rarely performed in the context of a regular Sunday service. Therefore, this service is a special musical "treat" and invites us on the last Sunday in January, World Leprosy Day, to listen to the texts and music of Bach.
