Workshop on Etiquette for Asparagus Eating with a Three-Course Menu by the Mediterranean Cooking Society 2000 e.V. "Table Manners for Beginners: Etiquette for Asparagus Eating" is the name of the workshop offered by "Museum frei Haus" and the Mediterranean Cooking Society in collaboration with Eliette von Gemmingen. Just a few generations ago, asparagus eating was a matter of "from hand to mouth." Nowadays, not only have the preparation methods for asparagus changed. It is no longer just boiled, but also cooked sous-vide, baked in the oven, steamed, or fried – accordingly, table manners have also evolved: it is eaten with a knife and fork. Eliette von Gemmingen dedicates herself to the broad topic of "table culture." Together with von Gemmingen, an active member of the German Knigge Society, workshop participants will dive into the world of Baron von Knigge. The expert not only provides tips on handling cutlery but also shares interesting facts about the different types of asparagus, their preparation methods, and possible dishes, along with corresponding wine recommendations. The participation fee for the nearly three-hour workshop, including a simple three-course menu from the Mediterranean Cooking Society, is 12.50 euros.
