Austrofred & Atalante Quartet

Austrofred dreams he is Anton Bruckner. As Bruckner, he meets God in heaven and asks him if he can finally see the Großglockner from below. God reluctantly agrees but warns the composer that he will be recognized everywhere. Furthermore, he demands a favor from Bruckner: he wants him to bring back the music of the present from his short trip to Earth, as God's record collection only goes up to Van Halen. For one day, Austrofred experiences a wild arrival on Earth as Bruckner. In cooperation with the ORF regional studio Upper Austria, the Brucknerhaus Linz presents Gerald Heidegger's short film "Heast Bruckner." Before and after, Franz Adrian Wenzl, alias Austrofred, reads and speaks about Bruckner, and the Atalante Quartet performs his string quartet, which was composed in 1862 during his time as a student under the Linz theater conductor Otto Kitzler.
