Avalanche accident – within seconds you are confronted with an extreme situation. A friend is buried under the snow – every second counts! In an avalanche emergency, there is a situation filled with fear and panic that is hardly solvable without training. A strategic and automated buddy rescue can be learned in the context of an avalanche course and saves lives.

The course takes place in areas that can be accessed without skis or snowshoes. No touring equipment is required!

Course content:
- Overview of equipment
- Functionality of emergency equipment (shovel, probe, avalanche transceiver)
- Introduction to the avalanche transceiver
- Tips and tricks from the professional regarding the different devices of the participants
- Avalanche transceiver check (large and small group check)
- Strategic approach from the moment of the avalanche release
- Proper handling of the avalanche transceiver and systematic working
- Intensive training including deep and multiple burials
- Probing and digging techniques
- Proper recovery of the victim, care, and first aid for avalanche victims

Course objectives:
- Safe and correct handling of emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe)
- Theoretical background knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of buddy rescue
- Recognizing that the main focus should be on the prevention of avalanche accidents

Please note that especially on weekends, increased traffic is to be expected when traveling to Montafon.
