TOURDATA

Bergbahnstraße 89a, 6787 Gargellen

Guided by a state-certified mountain and ski guide from the Firmalpin Mountain School

For decades, the circuit around Madrisa from Gargellen to Klosters and back has been one of the classic ski tours in Vorarlberg. This magnificent panoramic ski tour offers a balanced mix of ascents and over 2,000 meters of descent amidst an impressive high mountain backdrop. You will be accompanied by the experienced mountain guides from the Firmalpin Mountain School in Montafon.

The starting point of the Madrisa circuit is the valley station of the Schafbergbahn in Gargellen. With a touring ticket that is also valid in Klosters, Switzerland, you will first access the ski area. After a short descent on the slopes, the Kristallbahn takes you further uphill. Another descent along the slope leads us to the starting point for the ascent to the St. Antönier Joch (2,379 m). The ascent of 250 vertical meters begins gently and becomes steeper towards the end, before we reach the Swiss border. Once at the top, we switch to descent mode and enjoy the stunning slopes down to St. Antönien in Switzerland.

From St. Antönien, we take the bus and the Rhaetian Railway to the Klosters ski area. Here, we use the mountain lifts to shorten the ascent to the Schlappiner Joch (2,203 m) by about 200 vertical meters. From the Schlappiner Joch, a long descent over moderately steep slopes leads into the Valzifenztal and finally back to Gargellen. There, we will reflect on the impressive experiences over a cozy break.

Conducted by the mountain and ski guides of the Firmalpin Mountain School in Montafon. Please note that especially on weekends, increased traffic is to be expected when traveling to Montafon.
