Kirchplatz 1, 88630 Pfullendorf

The city and church community of Pfullendorf has a special relationship with the Camino de Santiago. The town in the Upper Linzgau is connected to the spirituality of the Camino through the centuries-old veneration of the Apostle James the Greater. Brother James of Ramsberg, who has been living for 33 years at Ramsberg near Großschönach in a former castle of Count Rudolf of Pfullendorf (+1180), will speak on May 9, 2026, at 7 PM in the Historical Hall of the Town Hall about the tradition of the Camino and the spirituality of the pilgrims. Nearly 30 years ago, he first walked with a group of pilgrims from the Beuron Monastery in the Upper Danube Valley through the Linzgau towards Switzerland, heading to France and Spain. In nine stages covering 2,500 kilometers, the group reached the tomb of the fisherman from the Sea of Galilee eight years later. Since 2007, the pilgrimage group has operated the association "Beuroner Jakobspilger Gemeinschaft," describing three pilgrimage routes between Tübingen and Constance, totaling 600 km, and supporting pilgrims on their way to Spain. In his lecture, he will introduce three additional pilgrimage routes that have since been added in the Lake Constance area: the Martins, Meinrad, and Ulrika paths. Interested individuals are warmly invited. The presentation will feature images from the pilgrimage route, provide information, and highlight the pilgrim's passport. Admission is free, and donations are welcome. Following the talk, personal questions will be answered.
