"Herbs and Weeds" - Herb Pesto, Salsa, and More

On Corpus Christi, June 4th, a herbal exploration will take place at 2:00 PM, offered by the Mia and Hermann Hesse House in Gaienhofen. Pesto, salsa verde, and other traditional spicy herb pastes are well-known, but did you know that these classic herb sauces can also be made from wild herbs? In various combinations, they complement pasta, potatoes, and bread equally well, enhance meals, are suitable for fish breading, and have nothing in common with ready-made herb pastes from jars. The herbal experts from the Hesse House will explain suitable wild herbs that are currently abundant during a walk through the woods and meadows. The collected herbs will then be processed into various pastes and tasted. There will also be drinks, recipes, background information, and book recommendations in the special atmosphere of the orangery or the garden at the Mia and Hermann Hesse House.
