Spanish Fiesta

Inspired by the dreamy gardens of the Palace of Aranjuez, Joaquín Rodrigo's popular guitar concerto, one of the most famous instrumental concertos in music history, transports listeners to a world full of emotion and Spanish joie de vivre. The guitar star Pablo Sáinz-Villegas brings it to the stage in Grafenegg with virtuosity and authenticity. Manuel de Falla also brings the Spanish soul to life. For the orchestral suites of his ballet "El sombrero de tres picos," he transformed the pulsating energy of Spanish folklore into unparalleled orchestral splendor. A final special highlight of this evening filled with colors, emotions, and elegance is the world premiere of a new orchestral work by Fabián Panisello, Composer in Residence of the 2025 festival.
