"Capturing the Colors of Autumn..."

– Botanical Illustration with Alois Wilfling

In autumn, the Botanical Garden reveals its full splendor of colors once again. We want to capture these impressions and – quite literally – bring them to paper.

The two-day workshop on Botanical Illustration is entirely dedicated to depicting the leaves, fruits, and seeds of old fruit varieties.

Participants will learn not only the basics of Botanical Illustration and pomology but also interesting facts about old fruit varieties. They will be expertly guided and supported while trying out different techniques (with a focus on watercolor).

No prior knowledge required!

The course leader, biologist and scientific illustrator Mag. Alois Wilfling, holds a Kew Certificate in Botanical Illustration (trained at the Royal Botanical Garden, London). Additionally, he has been intensively engaged in pomological research at the Institute for Applied Ecology & Fundamental Research (OIKOS) for over 10 years.

Two-day workshop:

Friday, September 11 to Saturday, September 12, from 9 AM to 4 PM each day.

Minimum 8, maximum 16 participants.
