In the castle chapel and under the archway to the castle courtyard in Gifhorn, from October 2025 to March 2026, on the second Monday of each month from 6:15 PM to 6:45 PM, there will again be the opportunity to start the new week with silence and reflection. The spiritual community of Taizé is a worldwide ecumenical movement. The Protestant Roger Schutz founded it in 1949, and its center is located in Burgundy (France). The simply designed Taizé prayers are characterized by calm songs, a word, a time of silence, and intercessions. In Gifhorn, Taizé prayers have been taking place every winter since 2018 and are organized by a team from the four Lutheran and two Catholic congregations of Gifhorn (under the auspices of the Ecumenical Church Forum).
