Elbe Church Day 2026

The Elbe Church Day will be opened on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 8 PM with a warm-up concert by the band "Thursday Evening" on the lakeside stage. The further program for this day includes:

9:00 PM: Opening devotion with Superintendent Kerstin Tiemann, presentation of the Elbe Church Cross, welcoming words from Cuxhaven's Mayor Uwe Santjer and Otterndorf's Mayor Claus Johannßen

9:45 PM: Evening serenade with brass bands, youth fire brigade with torches (on the dike)

10:00 PM: Casual conclusion of the evening

Saturday, June 20, 2026 – Program on three stages & Blue Table

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Lakeside stage (North Sea): Political topics in moderated discussion rounds (climate protection, environment, responsibility) – with music and other contributions

Seelandhallen:

Thematic impulses on faith & spirituality

Four pavilions at the lakeside stage: Bible course by the kindergarten association for children

Marketplace at St. Severi: Social & diaconal topics (diakonia, society, inclusion), music & contributions

6:00 PM: Blue Table: Shared meal at the long, blue-covered table in the old town.

Regional Bishop Ralf Meister will give the table speech and say the table prayer.

Conclusion: Evening choral with all guests

Sunday, June 21, 2026 – Conclusion & Festive Service

10:30 AM: Central festive service in St. Severi Church, Otterndorf with Superintendent Kerstin Tiemann and the new Regional Bishop Sabine Preuschoff.
