The rest is homework Mr. Schröder is back! Finally, the state-certified German teacher is back on tour with his solo show "The Rest is Homework." In Osnabrück, the school bell will ring on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the OsnabrückHalle. Mr. Schröder, the longest-serving junior teacher and human embodiment of an overhead projector, presents his current double lesson "The Rest is Homework." He lights the way to a better future and gives us the teaching skills we all need. Because school today is a group puzzle with 1,000 pieces. Solving it is like squaring the circle. Look forward to the silver lining on the horizon of expectations when it’s time to say: "Tablets out, log in, and participate. Even in the last row! And if we don’t quite finish: The rest is homework!" Johannes Schröder, alias Mr. Schröder, is a trained German teacher and comedian/cabaret artist. What sounds like a contradiction is ultimately a humorous form of self-defense. After twelve years in teaching and a side job as a break supervisor, Johannes Schröder set himself the goal of realizing his own comedy and stage project. In 2014, the German teacher moved from Offenburg to Toronto, Canada, where he learned the basics of punchlines in numerous comedy clubs. Back in his hometown of Berlin, he began writing his first solo program. With his debut "World of Lehrkraft – A Trauma Comes True," "Mr. Schröder" successfully toured Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. With his second program "Instagrammatik," Mr. Schröder finally hit the success track: Not only does he fill arenas across the country; his crazy, creative, and educational reels on social media continuously grow his fanbase, and his shows sell out in no time. Mr. Schröder's embracing humor makes the Cologne resident an Insta-hero, and his large community celebrates his output daily – complete with an overhead projector. In June 2024, Mr. Schröder also invited people to the largest detention class in Europe and celebrated the biggest school party with "Instagrammatik" at the Rudolf Weber ARENA in Oberhausen. Since 2025, his third solo stage show, titled "The Rest is Homework," is on the agenda. For those who can't wait until then, the new podcast "Detention with Mr. Schröder!" is available to listen to. Here, Mr. Schröder invites prominent problem students to the school desk. Mr. Schröder has won numerous prestigious awards, such as the "Stuttgarter Besen" and the "Prix Pantheon," and is regularly seen on TV, for example, on "Germany's Best Comedians" (SAT.1), "Nuhr im Ersten" (ARD), "Nightwash" (RTLII), "Till Reiners' Happy Hour" (3SAT), "Mitternachtsspitzen" (WDR), or in the "NDR Talk Show" (NDR). Additionally, the companies STARKLfilm and hb all productions GmbH recorded the solo "Instagrammatik" for television on behalf of WDR. His first book "World of Lehrkraft – A Teacher Unpacks" was published in 2019 by Ullstein Verlag and became a Spiegel bestseller. In 2021, the second successful work "Instagrammatik – The Streaming Classroom" followed.
