Landscape Historical Excursion On a walk, we will explore a quarry designated as a natural monument near Melle-Barkhausen. This site was of particular importance in the past and was under the auspices of the Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück. The stones quarried there were, for example, used for the reconstruction of the town hall in Osnabrück. The formation of the reed sandstone during the time of the Keuper and the appearance of the landscape will be discussed.
