✨ More lights, new installations, a longer route! ✨ From January 30 to March 8, 2026, the International Windmill Museum in Gifhorn will once again transform into a glowing dream world – this time even bigger, more impressive, and more diverse than last year.

For the first time, the entire museum grounds will be immersed in a sparkling sea of lights: from the imposing French windmill to the magnificent Russian Orthodox wooden church. An expanded route awaits visitors – featuring creative light installations, mysterious paths, and radiant highlights that invite awe, exploration, and photography.

The Windmill Lights are the perfect destination for a winter outing in Lower Saxony. Whether as a romantic evening for two, a special family trip with children, or a shared experience with friends or colleagues – the spectacular light show in Gifhorn delights young and old alike.

The idyllic village square will also open its gates exclusively for visitors of the Windmill Lights: with cozy dining options, warm drinks, and culinary delights, it will become a meeting point to enjoy the evening.

Entrances & Tickets
Main Entrance & Evening Box Office: Directly at the access to the museum grounds
Second Entrance: Pedestrian path over the bridge from the town (south behind the village square) ❗ No ticket sales here, only online tickets can be scanned
The village square with its gastronomic offerings is only accessible with a valid ticket during the Windmill Lights

Food and Drinks
Along the light route, there will be various stands offering a selection of delicious food and hot and cold drinks at the Greek mill and in the village square. The Trachtenhaus will be open from Tuesday to Sunday during the opening hours of the Windmill Lights, allowing you to start or end your visit there before or after the light route.
