Édith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich meet in New York in 1947. The still young, seemingly untameable, cheeky chanson singer from Paris moves her audience to tears with her voice, captivating even Marlene Dietrich. This tall blonde — already a world star — with her Prussian virtues, her men and her women. They quickly become best friends, united by a great love. After Dietrich's death, a yellowed note was found on her nightstand, which she had likely carried with her always. Piaf had written on it: "Never forget that I love you!" These two women are the focal point around which a vast cosmos of chanson revolves, encompassing biographies across two world wars. People like Jean Cocteau, Bruno Coquatrix, and Ernest Hemingway orbit around these two luminous figures. We meet them in Paris, Berlin, New York, and all over the world. It is an evening full of stories, anecdotes, eyewitness accounts, and above all, music: grand and small chansons by Édith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, Charles Aznavour, Yves Montand, ZAZ, and Charles Trenet. Personal, emotional, charming – detail-oriented and perfectionistic – close to the audience and authentic. Chansonmania! Secure your tickets here!
