Exhibition "At the End of the Tunnel No Light"

In the years 1944/45, there were three external camps of the Neuengamme concentration camp in what is now the city area of Porta Westfalica. The approximately 3,000 men and women imprisoned there were forced to perform the most grueling forced labor for the Nazi armaments industry, particularly in the tunnel facilities around the Weser breakthrough. Since 2024, interested parties can learn about the interplay of Nazi ideology and war economy in a small community in East Westphalia at the container exhibition "At the End of the Tunnel, No Light." The focus is on the stories of the prisoners from the concentration camp external camps. The outdoor area of the exhibition is accessible year-round, 24 hours a day, and on this date, further information will be available within the container area, with volunteers present on-site.
