Middle Ages by the Sea in Dangast

Medieval by the Sea from August 21-24, 2024, and August 28-31, 2025

The Frisian Market Guild and the Tourism Service of the North Sea Spa Dangast invite you to "Medieval by the Sea" at Dangast Beach from August 21 to 24 and from August 28 to 31, 2025. During this weekend, the hordes of the Middle Ages will invade Dangast, taking visitors on a journey back in time, with knights and maidens populating the area. A stroll through the encampments and the market will delight with medieval activities featuring juggling, trade, crafts, and the best food and drink.

For the youngest and the young at heart, there will be playful entertainment with medieval games everywhere. A medieval carousel for the little ones will also be part of the event this year. Musical entertainment will be provided by "Shadow’s Corner" and "Speellüe" throughout all four days.

During the second "Medieval by the Sea" weekend (August 28-31, 2025), the cult band "Katerfahrt" will return with a Spiced Pirate Folk concert (Saturday, August 30, 2025) on the large marketplace by the beach. They will leave their home port in Düren and sail across all the oceans to dock here in Dangast and showcase their musical talents. It’s worth it!

Every evening, visitors can wind down at the market in the hot tub, at the taverns, and in the food stalls. Curious? The market opens its gates on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM and on all other days at 11:00 AM. In the evenings, between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, the market will come to a close. A colorful program for young and old.
