St. Martin's Parade

On Tuesday, November 11, 2026, the St. Martin's parade will once again take place in Wangerland at 5:00 PM, inviting especially the children of the region to a festive shared experience. The evening begins in the large Kursaal in Horumersiel with a short ecumenical service, during which the story of Saint Martin is told in a lively manner. The focus is on Martin himself, who tears his cloak with a sword and gives half of it to a shivering beggar. Following this, there will be a small lantern parade through Horumersiel, accompanied by traditional songs and the colorful, handmade lanterns of the children. The volunteer fire department of Minsen will accompany the parade and ensure a safe process. Refreshments will be provided in the Kursaal. Admission starts at 4:40 PM.
