The Yellow Jockey Open Airs at the Bad Harzburg racetrack have confirmed their fourth and final act for 2026 – fulfilling a true audience wish: Johannes Oerding will take the stage at the historic racetrack on Friday, August 14, 2026. In several surveys conducted by the Goslarsche Zeitung regarding desired artists for open-air events in the Harz region, Johannes Oerding regularly ranked second. Now, this dream of many fans is becoming a reality. “We wanted to close out the year 2026 with an artist who embodies audience engagement, emotion, and live artistry at the highest level – and Johannes Oerding is exactly that,” says Christian Burgart, co-organizer of the Yellow Jockey Open Airs. “We are particularly pleased to fulfill a heartfelt wish of the fans.”

A Reunion After Ten Years
For Oerding, performing at the racetrack is a piece of home – and an emotional reunion. He was already a rising secret tip in 2016 at the predecessor format MINER’S ROCK and thrilled the audience with his unique blend of pop and genuine stories. Ten years later, he returns as one of Germany's most successful live artists – with a sound that has matured but remains unmistakable. “The Harz – I still remember that evening in 2016 at the mine so well. It was one of my first big performances in this region, and the audience was incredible. I am really excited to come back after ten years – this time open air at the racetrack!” says Johannes Oerding.
