Shadows in the Night - The Life of Bats

Bats can often be observed at dusk. With some historical images, it vividly illustrates why many people still fear the shadows at night. We learn how the only flying mammals can effortlessly navigate in the dark. A look at the daily and yearly cycles of these wonderful creatures helps us understand the special role they play in nature, and what each person can do to ensure that we can continue to benefit from bats in the future. Following the interesting lecture, we will attempt to encounter bats personally and listen in on their conversations with a "bat detector." With this event, WUNSCH Dammer Berge is participating in this year's European BATNIGHT.
