Special event at the LaGa: Culcha Candela

In front of the stage stands a huge crowd, whose impatient waiting immediately turns into exuberant applause as Chino, Mateo, Johnny Strange, and Don Cali take the stage. The world has changed significantly in the last 23 years. However, the boundless joy and unbroken energy at a Culcha Candela show have hardly changed. With over five million records sold, nearly 35 gold and platinum awards, and more than 1,500 live shows, Culcha Candela may not be reinventing themselves, but they don’t need to. Time and again, the Berlin cult collective has shown in recent years that they can effortlessly shake out energetic club bangers and hits with substance from their colorful sleeves – just like they always have. After nearly a quarter of a century in show business, the band continues to tour through sold-out venues, delivered the title song for the Handball European Championship in Germany at the end of 2023 ("Celebration"), and will celebrate the 15th anniversary of their mega-hit "MONSTA" with their "MONSTA 15" EP and the massive MONSTA TOUR in 2024/2025. Stagnation and retirement from pop stardom are simply (not yet) options for the legendary hip-hop, reggae, and Latin band. The four Berlin guys can rarely stand to be mere "bystanders" to the happenings in the world. Culcha Candela has always wanted to make a difference and make the world a little bit better. That’s why they continue to engage with great commitment in social projects like BeAnAngel e. V., Die Arche, ActionKids, Laut Gegen Nazis, Pro Asyl, Seebrücke, Afrika Rise, and many others.
