The natural events that led to the formation of the cultural landscape of Teufelsmoor – including the village of Teufelsmoor – occurred thousands of years ago. The moor landscape continues to be scientifically, literarily, filmed, painted, or sung about to this day. Art can engage with the past, present, and future in diverse ways – as artifacts of sight. At the edge of the former peat extraction area, far from curators and museum pedagogy, new drawings and oil paintings are being created. The artist Heinz Cymontkowski does not yet know where this will lead. Moor paths can be long. Transforming words into text or drawings requires not artificial intelligence but curiosity, seeing, understanding, and a pen that fills the white pages. White is also the nature that slowly submerges, waiting in the earth for the new seasons and the lengthening days. Forms, colors, and the history of time in their diversity will continue to be visible in the new works. Even in winter, light ochre colors can still be discovered in the quiet expanse of Teufelsmoor. Nature trails now reveal their vastness in winter. A departure into the new seasons begins.

Heinz Cymontkowski has captured the natural qualities in words and images over the past 20 years in countless projects and studio exhibitions. The artistic and cultural-political thinking and action are one of the artist's focal points. Among other works, pieces from the series "Winterwind" and "Timeless Teufelsmoor" will be displayed. The exhibition will feature oil paintings, watercolors, and ink drawings.
