It’s official: The legendary rock icon Suzi Quatro will perform again in front of Schloss Salder in Salzgitter-Salder as part of the Kultursommer Salzgitter 2026, opening the open-air events on July 30 at 8 PM. She last rocked the Kultursommer stage in 2010 and is returning next year to celebrate rock 'n' roll with her audience after 16 years. Suzi Quatro, born in 1950 in Detroit, is a living legend of the rock business. As a singer, bassist, actress, author, and radio host, she has significantly shaped the music world. She began her career at a young age in the family-owned band "The Art Quatro Trio" and played with her sister Patti in the band "The Pleasure Seekers" at the age of 14. With her distinctive mix of leather, bass, and unbridled energy, she became one of the first women in the rock business to not only participate but also significantly influence the scene. In 1973, she scored her worldwide number-one hit with "Can The Can." This was followed by further classics such as "48 Crash," "Devil Gate Drive," and the US duet "Stumblin’ In." In total, she has sold over 55 million records. In addition to her musical career, Quatro has also been successful as an actress, known from the cult series "Happy Days" and in "Annie Get Your Gun" in London's West End. Since 1999, she has hosted her own radio shows on BBC Radio 2 and has been nominated for the Sony Radio Award. Her versatility is also evident in theater projects, book publications, the documentary "Suzi Q" (2019), and collaborations with artists like KT Tunstall. Source: www.salzgitter.de
