WATT WITH CULTURE - The Golden Coats

For the third year in a row, WATT MIT KULTUR brings a diverse and entertaining program to Wangerland. In cooperation with the Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord, we present three new offerings that are as varied as they are enjoyable. Surrounded by a special atmosphere in unique locations: outdoors in the Kurgarten Horumersiel, adorned with fairy lights, picnic baskets, and a cozy campfire vibe, and at the beach in Schillig, in a circus with authentic flair, cotton candy, and the smell of fresh popcorn in the ring and in the stands.

This creates more than just an event visit – it’s a true (short) vacation experience. WATT MIT KULTUR on June 26, 2026, featuring The Golden Coats at Circus Axo on the beach in Schillig. After being personally instructed by garage punk legend Sky "Sunlight" Saxon (The Seeds) to henceforth call themselves "The Golden Coats" during a support gig, they have already gone through several incarnations. However, their mission remains the same: to rediscover old, long-forgotten garage punk, beat, and psychedelic nuggets, primarily from the 60s... so that they can be heard once again. They add some more well-known gems and increasingly their own songs in the same spirit, seasoned with a sprinkle of rhythm & blues and power pop, and that’s it! The "Golden Coats" just need to let it resonate through their vintage instruments... let's take a ride back to the future!
