For this purpose, the natural forces of water and air are harnessed and utilized in a targeted manner to move the wheels and produce the sounds of the organ. The art of mechanics and machine engineering, sculpture, the craft of organ building, and the composition of music come together in the music machine of Salomon de Caus to create an impressive total work of art. Salomon de Caus chose the tale of Polyphemus, Acis, and Galatea as the narrative for his mechanical theater. Additionally, from April to October, maintenance runs of the music machine take place from Monday to Friday at 11:00 AM, except on public holidays.
