Human or Machine? On the Impact of AI on the Cultural Sector

Will we only listen to music made by machines in the future? Will the next bestsellers be written by machines? What in the visual arts will still be created by humans? What is artistic work actually worth in light of the use of AI? What does AI mean for the transmission of artistic skills? Based on these and other questions, the evening will explore the opportunities of Artificial Intelligence in the arts and in the "cultural sector," describe the risks, and identify the cultural policy challenges. Speaker: Olaf Zimmermann, former art dealer, has been the full-time managing director of the German Cultural Council since 1997, the umbrella organization of federal cultural associations.
