In collaboration with AGIL, the Office for Applied Archaeology in Südergellersen, the bakery at Bodenteich Castle will be operational again on the following Sundays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM: May 10, June 7, July 5, August 9, and September 6. Visitors can expect freshly baked and delicious crumb cake as well as butter cake from the stone oven of Bodenteich Castle. Baker Mario Kleitzke, who has already demonstrated his skills at the pumpkin and apple days and the Christmas market at the castle, will be at the oven. The active baking is intended to not only whet the appetite for fresh cake and coffee but also to draw attention to the two museums at Bodenteich Castle: the Castle Museum and the Museum of German Unity. Of course, both museums will be open during the baking sessions, and we are already looking forward to hopefully numerous interested visitors. Admission is free, but both institutions would greatly appreciate donations. The Bodendiker Archers, who are also supporting this event, will allow children and adults to try their hand at archery or get creative by painting stones, marbling wooden discs, or making jewelry such as bracelets and necklaces. There is always some creative activity available. The storyteller Silke Kannen will also be present again, enchanting young and old with her little stories.
