Midsummer Night's Festival at Bodenteich Castle

For the third time, there will be a Midsummer Night's Festival at Bodenteich Castle on June 20th. The museums invite you to a very special night under the patronage of AGIL – the Office for Applied Archaeology. Starting at 7 PM, there will be Langos as well as typical Latvian and Swedish specialties in the castle courtyard, wine from Wendland will be served and sold, and the Bodendiek archers will set up their camp in the orchard, engaging in archery and creative activities, illuminated by torches later in the evening. The Friends of Ludza Association will be making flower crowns, as is the tradition in Latvia for Midsummer Night. Additionally, a storyteller will be present, sharing uplifting stories for young and old by the fire pit in the evening. The museums will open at dusk and will be accessible with lanterns or flashlights.
