A Night at the Oscars There are these film songs that you hear – and they immediately switch on the imagination. It could be one of the grandiose symphonic rock ballads from "James Bond." Catchy tunes from the pen of George and Ira Gershwin. The waltz from Coppola's "The Godfather." Or, of course, one of those incredibly numerous melodies by Hans Zimmer and John Williams – the two Hollywood assembly-line composers. Who already has sounds in their ears and images in their minds? And we haven't even mentioned "Jaws" yet. Or the bow of an old cruise ship... This evening with chief conductor Nicholas Milton and singer Mary Carewe, who has transformed many concert stages into cinema screens, promises goosebump moments with a guaranteed 90 percent recognition rate.
