The newly published book and map set (in a slipcase) showcases and explains the past and preserved remnants and sites that have significantly shaped the historical region between the Elbe and Weser rivers. It is an innovative, historically-geographically-culturally informed overview of the evolved structures of the Elbe-Weser Triangle, featuring symbolic entries on six accompanying maps. The accompanying booklet explains the entries in a cohesive text as well as in lists and provides in-depth information. The creation was interdisciplinary, involving numerous experts and institutions, including the Lower Saxony State Archive, the Stade Landscape Association, and various knowledgeable authors. Dr. Norbert Fischer is a social and cultural historian, honorary professor at the University of Hamburg, and a freelance publicist; his focus is on research projects and book publications, including those on the regional history of Northern Germany (e.g., North Sea coast, storm surges, dikes).

Compiled by Michael Ehrhardt, Gudrun Fiedler, Norbert Fischer [et al.]. Hanover 2025 (6 maps and a detailed explanatory volume. 256 pages, numerous illustrations). Price: 25 euros.
