Lecture on Juist: Artificial Intelligence: Basics and Trends Niklas Kühl will present the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in his lecture "Artificial Intelligence: Basics and Trends" and explain why developments in this area are advancing at a rapid pace and how the underlying technologies fundamentally work. This raises questions about the curse or blessing of using Artificial Intelligence: Can we trust it? How can we keep the human being, with their needs, concerns, and goals, at the center when collaborating with Artificial Intelligence? Will there still be jobs in the future without AI support? Admission: free - A service of the TöwerCard Speaker: Niklas Kühl Niklas Kühl earned his doctorate in Business Informatics with a focus on applied machine learning and habilitated in Applied Computer Science at KIT. He is a professor of Business Informatics and human-centered artificial intelligence at the University of Bayreuth. Additionally, he is a group leader at Fraunhofer FIT and a Senior Expert for AI at IBM. Since 2014, he has been working on applications of AI in industrial and societal contexts across various domains. He collaborates internationally with institutions such as the University of Texas, Carnegie Mellon University, and the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab. In 2023, he was appointed as an expert to the Bavarian State Parliament. Guests for Guests on Juist: It was an idea that came from the guests themselves. A lady approached the spa administration and asked if a place could be made available for her to read to children and young people during her vacation. Of course! But... why? She wanted to "give something back" to the island. What a wonderful initiative! Since then, there has been "Guests for Guests" on Juist, free events offered by guests during their stay on the island because they have something special to share or know.
