The new peace manifesto of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD)

On November 10, 2025, the EKD published a new peace manifesto. It is attracting attention both within and outside the church: What ethical positions does it take regarding current socially relevant issues, such as arms deliveries, civil resilience, military service, or hybrid warfare? What are the central statements and theological arguments? What critical objections can be raised against it? And how helpful is the manifesto considered for the current debate?
