Moor Train Ride "Peat Bodies and Menu"

For hundreds, sometimes thousands of years, they lay hidden in the bog: bog bodies offer you a unique glimpse into the world of our ancestors. During the 135-minute bog train ride with four stops, you will learn what finds from all over Europe reveal about life, last meals, clothing, and circumstances of death in the Bronze and Iron Ages. You will discover how the dead were treated at that time, the interpretation of mysterious bog phenomena, as well as the locations of finds and research methods. Afterwards, a fitting two-course menu awaits you in a relaxed atmosphere at the Café-Restaurant Torfwerk. This ride is only available as a combination offer and can be booked up to one week before the date. On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the last special ride: "Bog Bodies and Menu" for this year will take place. Due to the departure time (3:15 PM), you will travel into the darkness with the bog train that day and experience the bog in a completely different way.
