The Möhlenkring Rhaude-Holte e.V. is also tasked with preserving and maintaining old traditions according to its statutes. Among other things, this includes baking Speckendicken (a type of cake) on New Year's Eve. Since its founding in 1991, this event has been part of the Mühlenverein's program for the turn of the year. For guests who prefer something less hearty, sweet waffles will also be available. Additionally, those who would like to enjoy this East Frisian specialty in a family setting have the option to purchase freshly baked Speckendicken at the bakehouse. These visitors are encouraged to bring a container if possible.
