Village and Church Tour Groothusen

Hero-Georg Boomgaarden invites you to an entertaining tour of the warf village of Groothusen. He shares stories of beautiful yet thought-provoking events and a real East Frisian crime, and illustrates what life was like for the people in the village, with many craft businesses, large farms, and numerous small workers' houses, up until the 1960s. But why does a golden (Luther) swan adorn the mighty tower of the Reformed Church? Why did Groothusen, as a significant harbor and trading settlement, have three castles? What connection does Groothusen have with the Swedish royal family? Hero-Georg Boomgaarden will knowledgeably and entertainingly answer these questions, as well as any you may have about East Frisia and the East Frisians, and take you on an exciting journey through his hometown. The village tour begins in front of the church. Admission is free, but donations for the Groothusen Community Association are appreciated.
