Participants are offered a part of a tea ceremony as it has been practiced in Japan for about 400 years. They take part in a Japanese tea ceremony themselves and learn the roles of the host and guest (bowing, body movement, handling of tea utensils, drinking tea). There is also the opportunity to ask questions. Chado literally means "the way of tea" in Japanese. A fascinating art form has developed around this tea way, through which harmony and inner peace are to be achieved. During the tea ceremony, the host and guests move as they did 400 years ago when the grand master Sen-no-Rikyu established the basic rules. Instructor: Takashi Kunimoto.
