Watt to the Priel: This tour takes us to the coastal mudflat near Bensersiel, to the first water-carrying Priel. Upon arrival, we will observe a small offshore mussel reef. The mudflat ground is relatively firm and easy to walk on. In some places, there is a bit of mud, and we may sink in up to our ankles. New research findings about invasive species, the growth and development of mussels in the mudflat, as well as interesting facts about mussel fishing will be explained. Families with children aged 8 and older are welcome to participate, but the tour is also well-suited for couples, individuals, and seniors who wish to explore the mudflat. We will experience the uniqueness of this nature shaped by tides and discover which living creatures can be found in and on the mudflat. Duration of the tour is approximately 2 hours. Dogs are not allowed in the mudflat. Clothing: Fleece socks and snug-fitting surf or swim shoes are recommended. Shorts are advisable, but pants that can be rolled up are also acceptable.
