The CATO concert film by Helge Burggrabe honors the resistance fighter Cato Bontjes van Beek, who was executed at the age of just 22 on August 5, 1943, in Berlin-Plötzensee. With her commitment to greater humanity, she serves as a timeless role model for courage and determination in the fight against oppression and unfreedom. The original texts by Cato are read by actress Julia Jentsch, who previously portrayed Sophie Scholl in the award-winning feature film. The narrator is Lorenz Meyboden, and the male roles are voiced by Christoph Jöde from the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. The renowned vocal ensemble SJAELLA interprets the Cato texts set to music by composer Helge Burggrabe, as well as music from the 1930s and works by J.S. Bach. "A moving concert film!"
