Untamed – unpretentious – unstoppable and authentic. This title is a program in itself, as it could not describe one of the most distinctive German rock voices more aptly. From smoky to delicate, from powerful to subtle, there is hardly a register that Anne Haigis cannot fill with her voluminous voice. Even after more than 40 years "on stage," 16 studio and live albums, and numerous solo and collaborative projects, Anne Haigis is still passionate about the stage, her audience, and her songs, which have become anthems of life and are indelibly linked to artistic kindred spirits and companions. Songs that tell of personal encounters or significant experiences, both on a private level and on the grand societal stage. Discovered by jazz pianist Wolfgang Dauner, her companions include Melissa Etheridge, Eric Burdon, Nils Lofgren, Tony Carey, Edo Zanki, Wolf Maahn, and the Harlem Gospel Singers, who have collaborated with Anne Haigis to create timeless classics such as "No Man's Land," the song that Tony Carey wrote specifically for the trio Haigis/Carey/Burdon – today, it is more relevant than ever given the current state of the world. For many songs, the artist reveals backgrounds and offers insights that elicit reactions of "Aha," "Oh, I see," or simply amusement from the audience. Who would have thought, for example, that she initially did not particularly like her first big hit "Freundin"? "It catapulted me into the ZDF Hitparade, which was an absolute disgrace for me, the rock chick," Haigis reports with a wink, as she has long since made peace with her song, which became a carefree anthem for friends in the 80s. Today, it is particularly audience favorites like "Kind der Sterne," "Geheime Zeichen," or "Wer fragt nach mir" that are celebrated enthusiastically by her listeners. Musically, her roots lie in US Southern Rock and Blues, Gospel, and the Singer/Songwriter genre, in which she immerses herself with passionate dedication. However, the absolute highlight of each of her concerts remains "Waltzing Matilda," that magical moment when Anne Haigis reveals her innermost self with unrestrained openness and regularly receives storms of enthusiasm for it.
