Festival of Cultures

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, it’s that time again: The Peine Alliance for Tolerance is organizing the "Festival of Cultures – Colorful Instead of Brown" at the Historic Marketplace in Peine. For the 12th time, organizations and social groups will present themselves at this festival, standing for a tolerant, open-minded, peaceful, and racism-free district of Peine. From 11 AM to 2 PM, a lively atmosphere with many information and participation stations is expected. The various organizations will offer not only information but also a wide range of activities for children and young people. Children's games, face painting, rainbow plates, painting cans, spinning a wheel of fortune, and various movement and skill activities will be available, among many other things. A diverse cultural program will also be presented on stage. After the official welcome by the city of Peine, various international groups will perform and provide a colorful program. On this first Saturday in June, there is no room for right-wing groups in the city of Peine! In 2011, their march could not be prevented, and since then, the Peine Alliance for Tolerance has organized demonstrations, vigils, informational events, and of course, the Festival of Cultures – Colorful Instead of Brown.
