The lighthouse ship Amrumbank was built in 1915 at the Jos.L. Meyer shipyard in Papenburg and has been in service as a floating lighthouse at various positions in the North Sea since 1917. The inscription "Deutsche Bucht" on both sides of the ship indicates its last mooring position as an active lighthouse ship. 12 crew members served on board in a two-week rotation. After its decommissioning on October 19, 1983, it was purchased by the "Arbeitskreis Museums-Feuerschiff e.V., Emden," renovated, and partially converted. Since August 2, 1984, the Amrumbank has been docked in the Ratsdelft of Emden - right in the city - and is open for public visits. Heinz-Günther Buß (Association - Amrumbank/Deutsche Bucht e.V.) presents the ship and its history.
