In 2026, the Yoga Walks in Dannenberg will take place from June to October on the first Sunday of each month, as well as on several public holidays: Easter Monday, May Day, the first Advent, and the second day of Christmas. The approximately 75-minute Yoga Walk around the Thielenburger See in Dannenberg combines gentle exercises from the ancient Indian wisdom teachings with a partially meditative walk. At several stations, gentle yoga exercises are practiced while standing. Sometimes a tree or a bridge railing serves as a prop. No prior experience is required. Especially beginners in yoga are warmly invited.
Why walking and yoga go so well together: While walking, the body gradually enters a natural, even rhythm: the mind calms down, and the nervous system switches to relaxation and regeneration. In combination with various breathing techniques and gentle body exercises, the mind becomes clear, tensions dissolve, and the body and spirit can recharge with new energy.
What else you need to know: Comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement and simple sneakers are helpful. No prior knowledge or a mat is required for the Yoga Walk. However, participants should be able to manage the walking route around the lake without difficulty. The meeting and starting point for the walk is at 11 a.m. at the wooden sculpture "Himmelstreppe," not far from the children's playground. Participation fee: 10 EUR.
