Guided Tour of the Museum and Show Mine

For visitors to the Oberharzer Mining Museum, the tour through the above-ground and underground facilities of the show mine undoubtedly represents the highlight of the museum visit. The site, which has been assembled in a historically accurate manner from original buildings and mining facilities to become Germany's first technical open-air museum, is best explored with the help of a guide. Registration is required for groups. A standard tour of the show mine lasts about 1 hour. For groups of 20 or more, advance registration is recommended. Tours outside of regular opening hours can be booked for an additional fee. With timely registration, tours in English or Dutch can also be arranged.
