Season opening with steam locomotive Fabian

Join us as we kick off the 2025 season at full steam! 🚂 The steam locomotive type Fabian is in operation on the day freight railway line, which connects the old train station in Clausthal-Zellerfeld with the historic Ottiliae shaft. Experience mining history on the picturesque route through the Upper Harz. Upon arriving at the Ottiliae shaft, you will find before you the oldest preserved winding tower in Europe. During an engaging tour of the former shaft area, you will learn more about the industrial history of mining.

Registration: Not required, participation possible spontaneously, participation always at your own risk.
Boarding: At the old station, 38678 Clausthal-Zellerfeld. The tracks of the day freight railway are located near the pump track.

Departure times: Departures on the hour with steam locomotive Fabian, departures on the half hour with diesel or battery locomotive.

Prices: Adults: €12.00, reduced: €8.00, family: €21.00, children under 6 years free, students, trainees, and severely disabled persons with a disability of 50% or more.
