"The Visual Worlds of Mareverlag"

With mareverlag by the sea! In April 1997, the first issue of "mare – The Magazine of the Seas" was published. In 2001, the marebuchverlag was established, which has been publishing not only fiction, travel reports, and non-fiction books, but also illustrated books since 2004, the latest being "Hamburg" by Dmitrij Leltschuk. To capture the longing for the sea, excellent photographers travel around the world for weeks. The exhibition features images by photographers Paolo Verzone from Svalbard, Giovanni Cocco from Naples, Palani Mohan from Hong Kong, and Norwegian photographer Andrea Gjestvang from the Lofoten Islands throughout the seasons. Beyond all clichés, the viewer is presented with landscape images full of exotic poetry, city scenes in multifaceted nuances, and impressive portraits of the inhabitants. The book exhibition not only showcases the bibliophile illustrated books but also the entire range of the publishing program, including the sought-after classic editions in slipcases for collectors.
