Peat Day at the Village Museum Kuhstedtermoor

The combination of traditional craftsmanship, peat boat rides, and regional dishes makes the Kuhstedtermoor village museum and the peat ship harbor popular destinations for the whole family on Peat Day. The village museum grounds showcase how peat is cut. The exhibition in the main building is open for viewing. Craftsmen present traditional craftsmanship, and delicious butter cake is offered from the stone oven. A culinary highlight is the buckwheat pancakes, which are baked on old wood stoves in iron pans. Together with the association "Findorffs Erben e. V.," Peat Day will once again be a varied event this year, taking place at the peat ship harbor and on the grounds of the Kuhstedtermoor village museum. The Moor-Molly train runs between both event locations.
