German Mill Day 2026

The German Mill Day is a day of action and theme focused on mills and milling in Germany. It was initiated by the "German Society for Mill Science and Mill Preservation" and takes place annually on Whit Monday. Over 1,000 participating wind and water mills across the country are open for visits and tours, allowing visitors to experience them as functioning technical monuments. Many mills open their doors and provide a behind-the-scenes look. There are usually exciting attractions and many offerings for children as well. The aim is to understand mills as technical monuments and to ensure their preservation. Visit the mills in Greetsiel and Rysum in the municipality of Krummhörn. The mill café in Rysum is open.
