Guest Tour "Fehn Tour" Lecture with a Historical Walk about the Fehn - We meet in the museum tea room for a lecture on "Fehn History." Our tour guide will provide insights through historical photographs about the struggles our ancestors faced to conquer the mighty moor, dig the canals, and establish settlements. Here, we will also see and learn how the face of our town has changed over time. The guide will discuss life and work on the Fehntjer Königsallee and will touch upon Fehn shipping. After the lecture, we will take a short tour of the museum. Following that, our approximately 3.5 km long walk will begin at the Fehn founding station at the museum. We will journey through the past of Westrhauderfehn and Rhaudermoor. We will have the Hope Church in sight and walk to the town hall, our first station. Gradually, we will continue to several stations of the Fehn tour. Our guide will inform us about how the Fehn and its business and residential buildings along the canals have changed. The historical photographs along our route make this very clear. The guest tour ends in the harbor district with a pot of tea or coffee at the café "Am Siel," where we will have a discussion after visiting the memorial site "Rhauder Schanze" at the camper parking area.
