Cinema with Coffee and Cake: The DRK Film Café takes place on the third Wednesday of every month. It starts at 3 PM (doors open at 2:15 PM). Admission: €8 per person. This Wednesday, the film "How Life Sometimes Plays" will be shown, a French tragicomedy featuring Louane Emera and Michel Blanc as a burned-out waitress and a retired judge who develop an unusual friendship. Marie-Line (Louane Emera), a young waitress, struggles through her daily life. After a heated argument with her boyfriend, she not only loses her job but is also sentenced to a hefty fine. The responsible judge Gilles (Michel Blanc), just before retirement and introspective, sees in her more than just a case file. He promptly offers her the chance to accompany him as a driver for a month—his driver's license has recently been revoked. Marie-Line accepts the offer, unaware of how much this task will change her life. A special connection gradually develops between the energetic young woman and the distant judge. Through their daily encounters, they grow closer and begin to confront their own life fractures. What starts as a practical arrangement evolves into a meeting that opens new paths.
